We believe that differences in how we think, feel, behave, and relate to others are what make each person unique and that every person is equally worthy and valuable.

Glossary of Terms

Neurodivergent (adjective): differing in mental or neurological function from what is considered typical or normal (frequently used with reference to autistic spectrum); not neurotypical.

Neurotypical (adjective): not displaying or characterized by autistic or other neurologically different patterns of thought or behavior.

Neurodiversity (noun): the range of differences in individual brain function and behavioral traits, regarded as part of normal variation in the human population (used especially in the context of autistic).

Executive function (noun): the group of complex mental processes and cognitive abilities (such as working memory, impulse inhibition, and reasoning) that control the skills (such as organizing tasks, remembering details, managing time, and solving problems) required for goal-directed behavior.
